A bit about LEE…
Hi my name is Lee and as you have probably guessed I have a thing for trail running. I’ve pretty much spent all my life (some 30+ years, 11 years of which in the military ) training and competing in various sports including weight lifting, cycling, boxing, mountain biking, mixed martial arts ..to name just a few ..plus having just a major passion for all out fitness training and pushing myself to the limits.
After being in Dubai now for 10 years, what surprised me more & what I love about the place is its great sport and fitness culture which is growing massively every day. Anyway after several years of Mountain Biking out in the Hajar Mountain Regions of the UAE with some great MTB groups (Hot Cog & Dubikers) I decided I needed another challenge :-)
Thanks to a great friend and co worker of mine James Christie ( Ultra trail runner & veteran of the MDS and many more ultra trails), I found trail running, or more over ultra trail running …thought i’d just jump straight in at the deep end. So I set out and hit the many trails I ridden over the years …and became completely hooked!
3 years in and I’m still completely hooked ..and have managed to create a create trail running scene here in the UAE.
The great thing I was able to bring with me to the trail running scene over the last 3 years was the 30+ years of being trained, training myself, training others, researching and experimenting with different training techniques, diets and nutrition …all knowledge which have been able to apply to my running…..and so far its had a great effect and has helped me help others as well as compete in some amazing races around the world and of course right here in the UAE
So My aim still, other than to enjoy trail running, is to explore and map as much of the Hajar Mountain regions and deserts surrounding Dubai and hopefully provide excellent trail running guide and training opportunities to anyone and everyone who wants to have ago .. I also hope in the future to able to stage proper trail running weekends and training camps.
hopefully I’ll see you out on the Dubai trails soon …
run easy & enjoy :-)
